99 Problems

I happen to have grown up near New York City. I spent most of high school riding the trains down to eat, play and see my friends. I still know most of these people - we're all veteran New Yorkers at this point. We live here, we've always lived here, we aren't seriously going to live anywhere else. We've been up and down this island more times than number of used up Metrocards on the ground and pizza places named "Famous Original Rays."

Yet every time I want to find something new in this city, I end up visiting three or four review websites, consulting a map, and then asking my friends if they've heard of any of the places and if they like them. I can't trust restaurant or bar ratings on the review websites. I don't know those people and I don't know what else they like. And New York is so dense that a difference of ten blocks is like another time zone. Just because one place is within a mile of another doesn't mean it's close in New York terms. That's a $5 cab ride away.

I need local knowledge from my friends and neighbors about all the options that I have, the places I could go, in this crazy town.
